Paul Keetch MP was in Florida, USA, at the peak of pre-election fever last week. Together with some of the MP's former staff, he campaigned for the Democrat Party in the influential key state of Florida where Obama and McCain received 51% and 49% of the vote respectively.

Mr Keetch and fellow campaigners helped not only Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama, but also in Congressional district 24 in Florida saw the Democrat Suzanne Kosmas elected to Congress defeating incumbent Republican Congressman Tom Feeney in a very closely fought contest.

"It was an absolutely amazing experience," Mr Keetch said, "to be part of this process in a key state at such a historic time. The atmosphere was electric and gripping throughout.

"Being in the key swing State of Florida, we also attended a campaign rally with Joe Biden, the Vice Presidential Candidate, and, on the eve of poll, attended a huge rally in Jacksonville with Barack Obama."

All costs of this trip were paid for privately by Mr Keetch and those he travelled with.
