Support for our local small businesses and help if you are self-isolating or a community group helping self-isolators
Cllr Hall writes:
In the current crisis, businesses in East Staffordshire could be eligible for rates reductions and/or business grants. ESBC have contacted all eligible businesses, but a response needs to be made back to the council to claim your entitlement.
Payments started to be made just before Easter, and applications are being processed as quickly as possible. If you have a small business premises or retail, leisure and hospitality premises you should be eligible for either the £10,000 or £25,000 grant (depending on your rateable value), and if you have not received a letter from the council please email the revenues team on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Vulnerable residents who are in isolation and need support are being asked to register themselves with the borough and county councils on one phone line - 0300 111 8050. Cllr Helen Hall has volunteered to help to man the phone lines, as the councils are inundated with calls and are trying to process resident details as quickly as possible.
Cllr Hall is also able to apply for funding of groups within Burton ward who are trying to provide essential supplies to Burton residents. Grants of up to £500 are available by emailing email@example.com. Only community groups with a bank account in the name of the group can apply. All wards in East Staffordshire are eligible, but you need to apply through your own ward councillor.
