Eastern Avenue crossing needed

Since the cancellation of the 821 Lichfield circular bus service along Eastern Avenue near the All Saints area last year, residents must cross this major road to reach the bus stop for the 822 service. The traffic travels very fast along this stretch of road and includes heavy lorries, and crossing the road here is extremely dangerous especially for elderly residents.

A similar situation occurs along Trent Valley Road, where the service has been diverted from Valley Lane, forcing residents to cross this major thoroughfare in order to reach the bus stop.

The dangers for residents (in particular the elderly) trying to cross these busy roads to access the 822 bus service are preventing residents from using the service and present the risk of a serious accident. So we request that Staffordshire Highways install pedestrian crossings at these locations to ensure that there is safe access to the bus stops for those using the service.

Thank you for your interest but we are no longer running this campaign.
