Another Conservative Party Stitch-Up says Tamworth Lib Dem
Tamworth Liberal Democrats have accused the Conservative party of a "stitch up" after Rishi Sunak was appointed by Conservative MPs as Prime Minister without the public being given say.
The Liberal Democrats have tabled a Bill in Parliament calling for an election by the 1st December.
Responding to Rishi Sunak being appointed the third Conservative Prime Minister in three months, SUNNY VIRK, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for TAMWORTH said: "This Conservative Party stitch-up has left the country with another Prime Minister who nobody voted for. Most surprisingly not only did the public not vote, but even conservative party members were not given a say. This shows the conservative party has little or no respect for its party membership or supporters. "
"The party for business, people and farmers is the liberal democrats."
"By selecting Mr. Sunak the conservative party has shown it does not understand the challenges facing struggling families, farmers or pensioners - whether it's paying their heating and energy bills this winter or waiting hours for an ambulance in Tamworth when there is an emergency."
"The Conservative Party has trashed the British economy, pushed our local health services to the brink, and added hundreds of pounds to people's monthly mortgage payments."
"There is no proper support for farmers as the Basic Payment Scheme payments are reduced year on year; whilst the cost of living and business increases exponentially."
"People are fed up with this Conservative government taking our area for granted. It's time give local people a say over the country's future through a general election or a by election for the Liberal Democrats."
